Liverpool fans don't know how to feel about Philippe Coutinho's Anfield return.

Neymar made a stunning return to competitive football for Brazil in their friendly with Croatia at Anfield on Sunday, scoring a memorable goal just 98 days after suffering an injury he feared would keep him out of the upcoming World Cup in Russian Federation.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker replaced Fernandinho at half-time, and put Brazil in front in the 69th minute.

"Last match I told you that [Roberto] might have come in, there's competition among them and Gabriel is performing terrifically, but Firmino is putting pressure on him too", Tite added.

After his comeback on Sunday, Brazil's national team captured a video of Neymar exchanging shirts with Modric outside the dressing rooms at Anfield.

"He will have to go through stages - he is going to have his ups and downs but by the third, fourth or fifth game he will be back to his level".

Roberto Firmino scored Brazil's second goal in the 90th minute.

"He is a player that is different but he can't be given all the responsibility to decide the game, that's not humane, he is a key part but not everything", he said, declining to comment if the 26-year-old would start in the next friendly against Austria in Vienna on June 10.

Coutinho's departure from the Reds in January to join La Liga champions Barcelona left a bitter taste in a number of Liverpool fans' mouths.

Neymar scored the opening goal in the Selecao's 2-0 triumph, and he signed a personalised dedication to the Real Madrid midfielder on the shirt before handing it to him.

He came on as a second-half substitute for Brazil in a World Cup tune-up against Croatia in Liverpool on Sunday.
