Solo: A Star Wars Story To Debut At Cannes Film Festival

It would mark the third "Star Wars" franchise film to premiere in Cannes, after 2002's "Star Wars: Attack of the Clones" and "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith" in 2005.

Solo opens in the United Kingdom on 24 May.

As Cannes description reads, "Asghar Farhadi's 8th feature film, shot entirely in Spanish on the Iberian Peninsula, charts the story of Laura, who lives with her husband and children in Buenos Aires". In 2018, the Cannes film festival banned to do a selfie on the red carpet, reminiscent of "Bagnet".

Presented Out of Competition, the latest film of the Star Wars galaxy by Ron Howard brings together Han Solo, his faithful Chewbacca, the crooked Lando Calrissian, the Millenium Falcon and of course the droids. "The saga's second spin-off will be unveiled on the screen of the Grand Théâtre Lumière".

Solo, which began production with directors Phil Lord and Chris Mille, finished with Ron Howard and didn't get a title until October 2017, opens in USA theaters on May 25.

Nonetheless, organizers have agreed to exhibit the new Ron Howard-directed Star Wars movie during a special screening on May 15. Much like the first Star Wars standalone film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, released in 2016, Solo has had some production issues-to the point when Lucasfilm fired the film's original directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, for "creative differences".

Solo stars Alden Ehrenreich as the titular Han Solo, hero of four of the previous eight films in the main Star Wars canon.
