Prince Philip in 'Good Spirits' After Hip Replacement Surgery

The Queen's 96-year-old husband, Prince Philip, has been admitted to a London hospital for a previously scheduled hip surgery, Buckingham Palace says.

Buckingham Palace said the surgery went well and that he is "progressing satisfactorily at this early stage" while staying in "good spirits", local news outlets reported.

Prince Philip is to have surgery on his hip today, raising fears that he might miss Prince Harry's wedding day in May.

Buckingham Palace has not revealed exact details of the operation, and it is unclear whether he is having a hip replacement or a more minor procedure.

"Any operation and any anaesthetic carries some risk", she said.

Philip also missed the Easter Sunday service at St George's Chapel, where his grandson Prince Harry is due to marry Meghan Markle next month. "That's more important than someone's chronological age".

Will a quarter point increase in US Fed rates impact India?
The Fed asserted that part of the deviation from 2 percent reflects unusual price declines that occurred almost a year ago. Powell justified the Fed keeping its inflation forecast the same by noting that price pressures have been weak for years.

Prince Philip has been in pain for over a month now and has been forced to cancel a number of rare public engagements.

Also invited will be 200 people from various charities associated with the couple, 100 students from two local schools, 610 Windsor Castle community members and 530 Members of The Royal Households and Crown Estate.

The Duke of Edinburgh retired from public duties in August 2017, although he still attends the occasional engagement.

He has been largely blessed with good health, but he has been admitted to hospital with various complaints in recent years. However, he began to experience various health problems from the age of 87.

He did not accompany the Queen, 91, to a church service at a service last Thursday because of the hip problem, a royal source said last week.
