One killed in Trump Tower fire, United States president reacts

FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro stated on Saturday that there is additional fire defense at Trump Tower when Mr. Trump exists.

"There are four Firefighters with non-life-threatening injuries".

Two hundred New York City firefighters and emergency medical services workers responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m. It was ruled under control around 9 p.m., two hours after it was originally reported, the FDNY tweeted.

At its peak, flames raged from the window panes as crumbling pieces of ashen materials could be seen falling from the glass skyscraper onto the pavement below.

As New York City firefighters pushed through courageously, trying to save anyone caught in the disaster, President Donald Trump could only think of one thing while sitting comfortably in the White House: his brand.

ABC reported that it was the second fire this year at Trump tower. "He couldn't have already been nicer", real-estate agent Dolly Lenz, who offered him that the flat, told The New York Post. "The top flooring, the residence flooring, are not sprinklered".

The city's Department of Buildings said Sunday the building did have working hard-wired smoke detectors, and that the fire department was first notified of the blaze by the detectors in the building's heating and ventilation system.

The president who famously owns the glitzy Fifth Avenue residential-and-retail skyscraper that bears his name, tweeted his thanks to New York's firefighters. "The building sure stood up quite well". The legislation was spurred on by a major fire in a so-called "fireproof" apartment block with no sprinklers on New York's Upper West Side the previous December, and another in a Brooklyn housing project the same month in which hallway sprinklers failed.

As with seemingly every tweet from the Oval Office, people had issues with what Donald Trump had to say about the fire. A fire broke out in a rooftop heating and cooling unit at the skyscraper on January 8, sending black smoke billowing over the skyline.
