Sunday, there is a 40 percent chance of snow showers before noon, then a chance of rain and snow showers between noon and 1 p.m., followed by a chance of rain showers after 1 p.m., the weather service said.

Met Office forecaster Oli Clayton said: "Heavy showers will sweep in on Saturday with the potential for some thunder and maybe even some hail".
