The NFL awards compensatory picks based on free-agent departures the previous spring. Eighteen of last year's 32 picks were traded before or during the draft, including four that were traded twice and one that was traded three times. The Chargers have been awarded an additional seventh-round pick (251st overall). Under the system, teams that suffer a net loss of compensatory free agents (CFA) during the prior free agency signing period are eligible to receive a corresponding number of compensatory selections in the following year's draft, up to a maximum of four selections. Both picks are in the sixth round. Arizona received the highest compensatory pick at No. 97 overall.
