YouTube stops adverts for channels with low subscribers

The changes, created to improve "compliance with advertiser-friendly guidelines", also require that posters have 1,000 subscribers and generate 4,000 hours of "watchtime" over a year before they can benefit from ad revenue. (Previously, the only requirement was that a channel reach 10,000 viewers.) Existing channels will become subject to the same new set of Partner Program requirements on February 20.

YouTube isn't going to use only size to determine if a channel is suitable for monetization, as any violation of YouTube's Community Guidelines, Monetization Basics & Policies, Terms of Service, and Google AdSense program policies, will get you kicked out of its partner program.

"We observe that more brand name national advertisers are increasingly moving into Google Preferred inventory", says Todd Krizelman, CEO and co-founder of MediaRadar.

YouTube has announced a new set of policies that seek to cater for users with a large number of subscribers, in a major policy shift that would affect channels for specific audiences on its platform.

Leipzig confirm Keita will stay in Germany
The two clubs struck an initial deal in August regarding a future move to Anfield for Keita at the end of the 2017-18 season. But RB Leipzig ended all possibility of an early move for Keita with after releasing a statement on Sunday.

In a blogpost written by two YouTube executives, chief product officer Neal Mohan and chief business officer Robert Kyncl, the company said that "99% of those affected were making less than $100 per year in the last year, with 90% earning less than $2.50 in the last month". These manual reviews are expected to be completed by mid-February in the USA, and by the end of March in all other markets where Google Preferred is offered. If that wasn't enough, it's also got to deal with creators like Logan Paul, who recently got himself into trouble by uploading a video involving a suicide victim in Japan.

Now, some of these changes have come to light, courtesy of a blog post from Google.

YouTube is also revamping the tools that it gives advertisers to control the placement of their content. YouTube is confident that the changes will enable the platform to identify creators that offer positive content to the community and reward them, while keeping the ad cash away from "bad actors". Even super popular Youtuber pewdiepie was penalized by google for his right wing views.Without ad revenue many small youtubers will have to stop making videos and their opinions and views will be silenced. "We'll be working to schedule conversations with our creators in the months ahead so we can hear your thoughts and ideas and what more we can do to tackle that challenge", said YouTube.
