Manhunt underway for MI couple after 4-year-old child murdered

The U.S. Marshal Service recently announced a $5,000 reward to anyone who aided in the direct arrest of Fields and Diaz, who were wanted in the death of a 4-year-old girl, police say.

According to WXYZ-TV in Detroit, U.S. Marshals are offering up to $5,000 for anyone with information that leads to the direct arrest of Candice R. Diaz, 24, and Brad E. Fields, 28.

According to Sumpter Township police, officers responded around 10:45 a.m. January 1 to a report of an unresponsive 4-year-old girl at a residence in a Sumpter Township mobile home community.

Investigators told WDIV in Detroit that the home where the girl lived with Diaz and Fields was full of animal waste, and that guns and drugs were found on the premises.

Gabrielle had obvious severe burns about her extremities and was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A medical examiner ruled the child's death a homicide with evidence of multiple traumatic injuries and battered-child syndrome, meaning she suffered multiple injuries, at multiple sites, at multiple ages.

MI police charged Candice Diaz and Brad Fields in the death of Diaz's four-year-old daughter.

OH unemployment rate drops in November
Payroll Survey Estimates - The preliminary nonfarm payroll jobs estimate was up 2,100 from one year ago to 619,200 for November. In November of 2016 there were approximately 542 people unemployed in the county, for this year the number was 448.

He said the warrants are for charges that include murder, second-degree murder, first-degree child abuse and torture. It's unclear whether Fields is the child's father.

"She didn't have to pass the way she did, but I hope we get justice for her really soon", Barrett said.

Mugshots released Monday by Sumpter Township police officials appear to stem from charges filed against both Fields and Diaz following that incident.

Fields was charged with aggravated domestic violence, possession of a firearm as a felon and felony firearm, but the charges were ultimately dropped, according to court records. WDIV reported that Diaz was booked on weapons charges at that time.

"She's just a little angel".

"She seemed OK, playing outside with the other kids", he said.

"We didn't know. We would have gone" and removed her from the home, he said.
