Prince Harry Interviews President Barack Obama For BBC Christmas Special

A portion of the interview will drop as part of BBC's Radio 4 Today programme, with the full 40 minute chat landing as a podcast at a later time.

The pair's longtime bromance was on full display as Harry interviewed the former U.S. president, trading quips in a teaser released on Monday morning (AEST).

The interview was recorded in Toronto in September during the Invictus Games, a sports event for injured military personnel championed by the Prince.

Near the end of the clip, Harry admits to feeling a few pre-show jitters, telling Mr Obama: "You're excited about this".

Kensington Palace said the conversation focuses on the pair's "shared interest in building platforms for the next generation of young leaders".

Obama is surely up there on the list of "people we like to see being normal and zesty", which is exactly why we all got obsessed with 'JoeBama', Obama's adorable friendship with his Vice President Joe Biden during his tenure and now close mate. Obama asked, adding "Do I need a British accent?" "It's fun. I'll interview you if you want?"

Obama also reminisced about his memories of leaving office and discussed his post-presidential work with the Obama Foundation, according to the palace.

Prince Harry told President Obama that if he waited too long to speak, he would "get the face" indicating that Prince Harry would give him a stern expression, letting him know there was too much dead air.

"I'll interview you if you want", Obama offered.

Kensington Palace released a video of Obama and the prince joking around prior to the discussion.
