President Trump gives boost to Roy Moore at Florida rally

In addition to celebrating himself and how well his presidency is going, Trump predicted that he would be hard to defeat in the next election and ranted about the usual topics and suspects, from the Paris Accord and chain migration to people who won't say "merry Christmas" and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"People probably think Alabama is awful, and they go around saying, "Oh, you voted for a paedophile". There was a little mistake made.

"I had no encounter with them", he said.

On Friday, Beverly Young Nelson explained that she had added her own notes to an inscription and signature that she says Moore wrote in her yearbook in 1977, when she was 16 years old. The candidate and his allies have seized on the admission, using it to argue that Ms Nelson's allegations against him are not true.

"Ivanka Trump on Roy Moore: There is a special place in hell for people who prey on children", read a billboard on a truck with the president's daughter's face, referencing her statement from November when the first sexual misconduct allegations broke out claiming Moore molested teenage girls while in his 30s.

"We can not afford, the future of this country can not afford to lose the seat", Trump said referring to his party's narrow 52-48 advantage in the Senate. We can't afford it, folks.

"We need somebody in that Senate seat who will vote for our Make America Great Again agenda, which involves tough on crime, strong on borders, strong on immigration", Mr Trump continued.

There is still question over whether the allegations against Mr Moore will have the ability to derail his chances of being elected.

Moore has come under fire in the past day for comments about slavery and Vladimir Putin, but the President made it clear tonight that the Republicans "cannot afford" to lose a seat in the Senate. The US Senate's top Republican on Monday urged scandal-hit conservative Roy Moore to end his Senate campaign, saying he believes the women who have accused the Christian evangelical candidate of sexual misconduct. On Tuesday, Mr McConnell said if Mr Moore was elected, "he would immediately have an issue with the Ethics Committee".
