Sessions to testify to House next week in Russian Federation probe

"In April, [former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos] met with a professor who promised "dirt" on Hillary Clinton from the Russians - have you seen any evidence that this 'dirt, ' that these emails were ever given to the Trump campaign?"

Former Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page, who has come under scrutiny in the investigation of Russian election interference, told a House committee that he sought permission for a July 2016 trip to Moscow from senior Trump campaign officials, and reported to other Trump officials about the trip when he returned.

Last week Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators about his Russian Federation contacts during 2016. (A spokesperson for the Ziffs said it had no comment.) In exchange for proof that the Clinton campaign received said illegal donations, Veselnitskaya said Trump Jr. indicated that, if his father won the election, the Magnitsky Act-a retaliatory measure the US leveled against Moscow, blacklisting suspected human-rights abusers-would be re-examined. The Justice Department may bring charges against Russian officials responsible for the hacking of the Democratic National Committee. Sessions, who is now the US attorney general and was an early supporter of Trump's campaign, to say hello and mentioned he was headed to Russian Federation.

In a letter sent Tuesday, the lawmakers note that one of the Trump campaign's foreign policy advisers, George Papadopoulos, acknowledged to FBI investigators that he told several Trump campaign officers about his outreach to the Russian Federation government.

"During many public appearances prior to his November 2, 2017 testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in open session, Carter Page characterized his July 2016 trip to Russia as a private one in which his interactions with Russian individuals were largely confined to the 'man on the street, '" Schiff said.

Texans' owner Bob McNair apologizes for 'inmates' statement during anthem meeting
It turns out, as many initially speculated, the wideout skipped practice to show his displeasure at Texans owner Bob McNair . For many, including myself, I consider those comments to be highly offensive, especially in the context that they were used.

Page's Russia contacts paralleled those of Papadopoulos, who, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, wrote a number of emails to senior Trump campaign officials between March and September a year ago about his own Russian contacts and proposed Trump travel to Moscow. A photo showed Sessions also attended that campaign meeting, and a source told CNN that at the meeting, Sessions vetoed the proposed Trump-Putin sit-down.

Page told NBC News Monday night that some lawmakers are focusing on "irrelevant distractions". He called the Russian Federation investigation a "witch hunt that was sparked by the dodgy dossier in the months prior to November 2016".

In his testimony, Page strongly downplayed his role on the campaign.

All 10 committee Democrats signed a letter asking Sessions about questions on Russian ties to Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

But he also said he had "been in a lot of meetings with him (Trump), and I've learned a lot from him".
