Stacy Lewis wins, donates her earnings, $195000, to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Seeking her first victory since 2014, Lewis is planning on donating her winnings from the event to the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey.

United States golfing star Stacy Lewis said watching the resolve of the victims of a tropical storm in her hometown of Houston, Texas, has spurred her to help out. "I really feel like the last few months I've been playing some good golf".

The world No.33 from Bangkok shot a six-under-par 66 to move to 14-under 202 while overnight co-leader Lewis ended her third round on 17 under after a 65. She won her 12th LPGA title for those suffering from the epic rainfall and deadly flooding that destroyed so many homes and businesses in Houston.

For Chun, it marked another runner-up finish in 2017. A trio of golfers are just two shots back heading into the weekend including Jodi Ewart Shadoff, Ai Miyazato - who is playing in her final LPGA Tour event on U.S. soil prior to retiring, and Moriya Jutanugarn. I was hitting a lot of good shots, a lot of good putts, and they just weren't going in. "You can't just get up there and bomb it", Lewis said.

Lewis grew up in The Woodlands, outside Houston, and lives nearby with Chadwell, so it was especially hard for her to be away from home when the hurricane hit with calamitous impact.

"I'm going to miss so many things, but I think mostly my friends and all the people from the LPGA and sponsors", she said. "I was able to go 4 under par after that point which was really important and help me get to 10 under".

ARSA has also taken responsibility for the coordinated attacks on 30 police outposts and an army base that took place on Friday. Police fought off groups of as many as 100 Rohingya attackers armed with guns, machetes and homemade grenades.

Chun sank her par putt, leaving Lewis with one final bit of work to do.

Finishing second in tournaments, "sometimes it's your fault, sometimes it's not", she said. She also broke through in Portland after finishing second twice - two strokes behind Suzann Pettersen in 2013 and four shots behind Brooke Henderson previous year.

The 5-5 Lewis, 32, now has 12 career victories (including two majors) and more than $12 million in career money.

With 11 LPGA Tour wins already under her belt, Lewis commented: "It would honestly probably be one of the most special".

Lewis' bid to finish high up the pecking order is on track so far after an eight under round of 64 saw her occupy the joint top position on the leaderboard at the halfway stage. She bounced back immediately, however, with a birdie on the very next hole.
