Unemployment rates fall to record lows in 4 US states

Idaho's unemployment rate in March dropped a tenth of a percentage point from the previous month to 3.5 percent. It was 2.6% in Colorado and 2.8% in New Hampshire.

National unemployment rate sits around 4.5 percent, since the state is nearly two percentage points lower it reflects the population growth, and most jobs being filled are high skilled positions.

The largest private sector job gains in the month were in leisure and hospitality, financial activities and education and health services.

The sectors reporting the highest rates of job increases were Trade, Transportation, and Utilities, which added approximately 600 positions, and Mining, Logging, and Construction, which added around 500 positions for the month, with the majority coming from the Construction trade. Healthcare/social assistance again led the way, adding 26,000 jobs, followed by food service (up 13,500) and professional/scientific/technical services (up 9,500).

The Virginia Employment Commission said Friday that the commonwealth's jobless rate dipped one-tenth of a percentage point during March, the third consecutive monthly decrease.

Most sectors within Stanislaus County reported job growth for the month of March or remained steady. The state gained 3,600 nonfarm jobs over the year. "Jobs were created faster than the growth in workforce, resulting in a significant decline in unemployment rate".
