ISIS monsters killed by . . . rampaging wild boars?

Three Islamic State militants setting up an ambush in a bitterly contested area of northern Iraq were killed by a herd of stampeding boars, local leaders say.

At least eight ISIS fighters took cover in some dense reeds in the area, likely disturbing the wild boars, which then attacked them and killed three ISIS members, injuring the other five. Kirkuk officials have requested the Iraqi government bring in more security, but all military personnel is now directed toward the fight in Mosul, the ISIS capital of Iraq. They attacked the militants and left three killed, according to the source.

Hawija, home to more than 150,000 largely Sunni Arabs, is located east of the road from Baghdad to Mosul. USA -backed troops launched the effort to drive the militants out of Mosul in October.

The Iraqi government is expected to launch a campaign against Daesh in the region after it completes the operation to retake Mosul, the terrorists' stronghold in the country, which kicked off in October.

Local officials have repeatedly called on the government to liberate ISIS-held regions in Kirkuk province, but government forces are now focused on the six-month-old campaign to retake Mosul, ISIS's largest stronghold in Iraq.
