Protest paralyzes NY-New Jersey bridge; drivers outraged

Pro-immigrant protesters chained themselves together and blocked lanes on the George Washington Bridge between New Jersey and New York City on Wednesday, briefly halting traffic during the morning rush on the busiest USA bridge. Vehicles honked, and one man even approached the activists, clearly agitated as shown in a video Alexander Rubinstein of RT America posted to Twitter.

Protesters brought traffic on the bridge to a halt when they got onto the bridge and chained themselves together, The New York Daily News reported. One banner appeared to read "Resist, Organized, Act Up!" "Guess what? You ain't protesting no more".

The arrests came after commuters took it upon themselves to confront the protesters, demanding they move out of the roadway. Traffic began moving against after about 15 minutes.
